Welcome to the Tutoring Center at CT State Norwalk!
Tutoring is a great way to get more personalized attention and practice concepts with someone who gets it. Tutors help you to review course topics and reinforce good study strategies. We offer free subject tutoring, writing tutoring, basic computer skills tutoring, and PASS tutoring. Our academic skills coaches assist exclusively with helping you develop good study, life, and organizational skills. We offer quiet and/or group study spaces. And you can submit papers online for review and feedback!
You can work with a tutor in-person or online. Use the sidebar links to make an appointment or submit a paper.
- Click Make an Appointment
- Log in with your CT State credentials when prompted
- Click ‘Schedule an Appointment’
- Choose your class or Other*
- Choose your campus
- Choose your reason and click ‘OK’
- Click ‘Search’
- Select an appointment date and time that works for you
- Choose a meeting type (online or in person)
- Click ‘Confirm’
*Note: Other should only be used for academic skills coaching, basic computer skills, or writing tutoring. Do not use Other for subject tutoring.
We offer tutoring on campus as well as online via Microsoft Teams. To attend an online appointment:
- Log in to TracCloud 5 minutes before your appointment time
- In the Upcoming Appointments box on the homepage, find your online appointment
- Click Enter Online Appointment
You will be directed to the Virtual Learning Commons in Teams. We recommend that you download and install Teams to your computer before your appointment.
Professional Tutors
- Professional Tutors are tutors who have degrees in and/or have worked in the fields in which they tutor.
- ESL Specialists are professional tutors who have substantial current or prior experience teaching ESOL classes to adult English language learners.
Student Tutors
- Peer (Student) Tutors are current students who have been identified by instructors as someone who excelled in the subject area they tutor. They also have strong communication skills and have completed new tutor training, so they understand tutoring techniques and practices.
- PASS Tutors are student tutors who, in addition to holding tutoring sessions in the Tutoring Center/Learning Commons, attend the class or lab with students and assist with practicing course concepts in the classroom.
