What We Offer
The Writing Center is the area in the Norwalk Tutoring Center where students can get help with their writing assignments. We can help you with:
- Understanding writing assignments
- Brainstorming
- Drafting
- Outlining
- Critical reading/thinking
- Researching
- Documentation
- Revision
- Editing
Writing tutoring is available for many writing tasks including brainstorming, outlining, and revision. Writing tutors help with papers for CT State Norwalk courses in any discipline, college admission statements, and scholarship application essays. Some of our writing tutors are also ESL specialists who have extensive experience working with English language learners. Writing tutoring is free and is available in-person and online.
Making the most of your visit

To make the best use of every session, you should:

- Click Make an Appointment
- Log in with your NetID and password when prompted
- Click ‘Schedule an Appointment’
- Choose your class or Other*
- Choose your campus
- Choose your reason and click ‘OK’
- Click ‘Search’
- Select an appointment date and time that works for you
- Choose a meeting type (online or in person)
- Click ‘Confirm’
*Note: Other should only be used for basic computer skills or writing tutoring. Do not use it for subject tutoring.
- Click Submit a Paper
- Upload your paper and assignment
- You will receive your paper back with comments and suggestions in 2-3 business days
- You may resubmit your paper for a second review after you make the recommended changes
