What We Offer

The Writing Center is the area in the Norwalk Tutoring Center where students can get help with their writing assignments. We can help you with:

1. Understanding writing assignments
2. Brainstorming
3. Drafting

4. Outlining
5. Revision
6. Editing

Writing tutoring is available for writing assignments in any CT State course, college admission statements, and scholarship application essays. Some of our writing tutors are ESL specialists who have extensive experience working with English language learners. Writing tutoring is free and available in person and online.

To make the best use of every session:

  • Come well before the paper or assignment is due
  • Bring a printed copy of the assignment instructions and any work you have already completed or email it to your tutor before your appointment start time
  • Bring necessary materials for completing the assignment (textbooks, articles, etc.), instructor feedback, your course syllabus, etc.
  • Expect your tutor to help you to work on your paper or assignment
  1. Click Make an Appointment
  2. Log in with your CT State credentials when prompted
  3. Click ‘Schedule an Appointment’
  4. Choose your class or Other*
  5. Choose your campus
  6. Choose your reason and click ‘OK’
  7. Click ‘Search’
  8. Select an appointment date and time that works for you
  9. Choose a meeting type (online or in person)
  10. Click ‘Confirm’

*Note: Other should only be used for academic skills coaching, basic computer skills, or writing tutoring. Do not use Other for subject tutoring.

  2. Upload your paper and assignment
  3. You will receive your paper back with comments and suggestions in 2-3 business days
  4. You may resubmit your paper for a second review after you make the recommended changes
