Gain transferrable skills and experience that will look great on your resume! All new hires must complete mandatory training. Tutors are required to complete College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA) certified tutor training before they begin working.
Use the applications below to apply for a tutor or office assistant position. We do most of our hiring toward the end of the semester for the upcoming semester.
Description:
- Work with students individually or in groups
- Help clarify course concepts and model good learning strategies
- Manage session attendance
Requirements:
- Earn a B or better in the course or higher-level course in the discipline
- Have an overall GPA of 3.00 or above
- Be recommended by an NCC instructor in the relevant discipline
- Attend mandatory new tutor training
- Be qualified to tutor College Algebra or higher (math tutors only)
- Be approachable, courteous, and responsible
- Have an ease in relating to people from different backgrounds and with different abilities
Description:
- Greet visitors and make appointments
- Manage visitor sign-ins
- Run reports and monitor tutoring attendance
- Work on special projects as assigned
Requirements:
- Have a Federal Work Study award (preferred)
- Be in good academic standing
- Attend mandatory training
- Be approachable, courteous, and responsible
- Excellent technical, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Proactive with good leadership ability
