Introduction to Digital Photography

About this Course

In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of digital photography, including how to operate their digital cameras and compose compelling images, so she/he can begin to shoot in manual mode, capturing higher-quality images of the people and places around them.  Students will gain experience by shooting a variety of photo assignments that will expand both technical skills and creativity, including portrait, candid, landscape and action photography projects. Photography theory, including principles of exposure and composition, are taught in an engaging way through hands-on experience and group photo reviews.  By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in digital photography and the skills needed to take their work to the next level.  Students who have their own photography gear, are encouraged to bring it to class.   It is not mandatory to have cameras, since students can still achieve the goals of the class using a quality cell phone camera.
