Introduction to Photography-From Darkroom to Cell Phone Grades 9-12

About this Course

In this class students will be introduced to the art of photography through photograms in the darkroom, as well as, cell phone photography. Students will explore image-making through hands-on experiments in the darkroom with light-sensitive materials.  Students will also delve into the fundamentals of capturing images using their smartphones; covering essential techniques such as composition, lighting, and framing to help students develop their photographic eye.  In addition to technical aspects, the importance of storytelling and creativity in photography will be emphasized, encouraging students to find their unique perspective and voice.  The course emphasizes the importance of creativity and experimentation in photography, encouraging students to push the boundaries of traditional image-making techniques.
