AWS Academy Cloud Foundations

About this Course

Companies are increasingly shifting from on-premises computing to cloud computing. They do this for a variety of reasons including lower costs (usage-based billing), greater flexibility (easily modify storage and servers), high reliability (auto-fault detection and rollover) and greater security and auditability. This dramatic shift to the cloud has created a skills gap and a high demand for Cloud literate employees. Employees need to keep up and increase their digital skills to advance in their careers. AWS Cloud Foundations is an entry level class, a gateway to specializations in different IT areas including Cloud Architecting, Security, Systems Development and Operations, and Machine Learning. It is intended for students who seek a real-world understanding of cloud computing concepts, independent of specific technical roles. It provides a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. It includes lectures, group problems solving, hands-on labs and individual projects. All course content is developed and maintained by AWS to ensure the learning reflects current services and best practices. Required for the online section: Internet access and computer. Microphone and webcam needed for live audio/video training using Webex. The instructor will contact online students with further instructions one to three business days prior to class.
