Start your success @NCC

Start2Finish is NCC’s student success program. The program helps first-time students get off to the right start so that they will reach their academic, personal, and career goals. Through Start2Finish, students will take a college success course, be introduced to their Student Success Coach, and be a part of an early alert system to help monitor academic progress.  Students are provided with a full range of support services and resources through graduation.

Through Start2Finish, students will develop a network of peers, faculty and staff committed to their academic success.

Welcome to the start of it all!

How do I know if I am part of the program?

There is no application process for enrollment into the Start2Finish program. Participation in the program is based on entrance into a Freshman Seminar course. Students who have taken Freshman Seminar in fall 2014 and thereafter are automatically part of the program.  If you are uncertain about whether or not you are part of the program, please do not hesitate to contact one of the Student Success Coaches.

What is the coaching process?

Student Success Coaches work with students one-on-one and in group settings to provide them with the support they need to succeed.  Coaching is a collaborative process between the student and their Student Success Coach. The two parties work together to identify goals and develop action plans for student success. Coaches are here to motivate students towards completing the goals they have set out for themselves.

Student Resources

Your Ticket to Success

Freshman Seminar

A college success course where students use a variety of self and career assessment instruments to explore career paths, practice goal setting and develop plans for achieving their goals.  In addition, students address issues related to their transition into college, develop critical thinking abilities and review and practice academic success strategies.

Student Success Coaching

Students are matched with dedicated coaches who help them to plan for college success. Coaches meet with students one-on-one and in groups to monitor their progress here at NCC.  Student Success Coaches will work to provide students with the tools and resources they need to graduate and accomplish their academic and personal goals.
