Model U.N. Club Members Learn Global Diplomacy

Under the direction of Dr. Hannah Moeckel-Rieke, chair of the English as a Second Language department, 12 student members of NCC’s Model United Nations Club attended the annual National Model U.N. Conference on Nov. 7-9 in Washington, D.C.

They were among 900 students from around the world who participated in discussions of issues at the forefront of international relations. The NCC team represented a country (Venezuela) and wrote position papers on contemporary global issues. They also negotiated with other teams and brainstormed ways to solve problems related to the U.N.’s development goals.
