Spring Musical Production of “RENT”

RENT was a revolutionary rock musical that first made it to Broadway in the 1990s and won the Pulitzer Prize and multiple Tony Awards (including Best Musical and Best Score).

NCC’s theater and choral students will present performances on Wednesday, April 24th @ 5:30 P.M., Thursday, April 25th @ 7:00 P.M. and Friday, April 26th @ 6:00 P.M. in the PepsiCo Theater.  The show is 2 hours and 45 minutes.

The story follows the year in the lives of young artists and musicians, who struggle to survive and follow their dreams without selling out.  In the shadows of poverty, HIV/AIDS, and fear, RENT is about celebrating love, joy, and friendship.  The show is known for its award-winning music that includes songs like Seasons of Love, La Vie Boheme, Light My Candle and One Song, Glory.

The show is free and doesn’t require reservations.  However, please arrive early to guarantee seating.

NCC obtained the rights to perform the school-edition for RENT.  However, our production still features mature themes and images related to sexuality, HIV/AIDS, and drug use.  Please contact Professor Christine Mangone at cmangone@norwalk.edu for information.
