Professor Erica Kipp Wins Environmental Award

NCC Environmental Science Professor Erica Kipp is the 2018 recipient of the Aquarion Environmental Champion Award for her significant contributions to the improvement of environmental quality through the protection, conservation, restoration and stewardship of natural resources.

Professor Kipp teaches BIO 181, a four-credit Environmental Science course at NCC. The course focuses on the impact of human intervention on our environment and addresses the problems posed and possible solutions. Environmental science is an interdisciplinary study that encompasses many other sciences and subjects such as biology, agriculture, chemistry, geology, politics, economics, ethics, sociology, public relations and many more. The course consists of lecture and lab, including both laboratory and field activities.

She was honored at an awards ceremony at the Beardsley Zoo in Bridgeport, CT on June 2nd.
