The newest class of students entering the Norwalk Early College Academy (NECA) came to NCC on June 30 for an IBM Welcome Day to learn about the program and to meet their IBM Mentors and NECA teachers.
NECA is Connecticut’s first Pathways to Technology College. Students in this dual enrollment program earn a high school diploma from Norwalk High School while simultaneously completing a tuition-free Associate degree from NCC. Founded in 2014, the academy is a partnership between NCC, IBM and Norwalk High School. It has been an unparalleled success.
While at NCC, the students engaged in activities with their IBM mentors, met NCC President David L. Levinson, Ph.D. and enjoyed a luncheon and group activities.
This new class, to begin in September 2017, will be the largest NECA cohort ever, with more than 100 students.
