The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association has awarded Norwalk Community College a Bronze Workplace Health Achievement Award. The college is publicly recognized as an award winner on Heart.org’s “Workplace Health Solutions Recognition Page.”
The NCC Wellness Committee educates members of the college community about health and nutrition, exercise and stress management. The committee holds free programs throughout the year including a series of Campus Wellness Walks, exercise Boot Camps, a Lunchtime Health Series of talks, and demonstrations, health fairs, and the Stand More Sit Less competition.
In 2017, NCC was honored at The White House as a winner of the White House Healthy Campus Challenge, an initiative to inform college students about Affordable Care Act open enrollment. The award honors employers who have implemented programs to promote a healthy workplace and help their employees lead healthier lives.
