NCC Celebrates Week of the Young Child

The Week of the Young Child is being celebrated across the country this week (April 8-12) to celebrate our youngest learners.  NCC’s Child Development Laboratory School (CDLS), which is accredited by NAEYC, is hosting events on campus all week long.

The Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration hosted by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) to spotlight early learning, young children, their teachers, families, and communities.

Monday, April 8:
9 a.m.: NCC Marketing and PR Director Madeline Barillo will read to the children in Miss Esther’s class
9:30 a.m.: The CDLS teachers will lead children on a Wacky Day Kick-Off Parade around campus. (The children will pick out their outfits to wear.)

Tuesday, April 9:

10:00 a.m.: NCC Interim Dean of Academic Affairs Mike Butcaris will be guest reader.
10:30 a.m.: Music and Movement with Professor Rita Caruso

Wednesday, April 10:
10:00 a.m.: The CDLS will lead a Wellness Walk around campus

Thursday, April 11:

8:45 a.m. Family Pancake Breakfast and Pajama Day

Friday, April 12
Noon: Potluck Lunch with Parents and Staff and Self-Portrait Exhibit in Hallway

6:00 p.m.: Self-Portrait Exhibit and Reception at Norwalk Library
