A celebration breakfast was recently held for eight high school students from Norwalk who worked in NCC offices this summer through the Mayor’s Youth Employment Program.
Guests included Norwalk Mayor Harry Rilling and his wife, Lucia, and NCC President David L. Levinson, Ph.D.
The Mayor’s Youth Program prepares youth ages 14-18 for jobs via pre-employment workshops and matches them with employment opportunities where they can explore a profession, learn a skill, learn to navigate in a business environment, and earn money.
The students worked at NCC from July 5 through August 10 in offices including Admissions, Career Development, Continuing Education and Workforce Development, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs, Counseling, Food Pantry and Student Activities. Funding for the student workers was provided by the Mayor’s Program.
