Himes to Discuss Gun Violence

Congressman Jim Himes (DEM-4th District) will discuss gun violence prevention and the importance of political participation by college students from 2:45 to 3:50 p.m. Oct. 10 in the NCC David L. Levinson Ph.D. Theater (formerly known as the PepsiCo Theater).

The public is invited. A Question and Answer session will follow the talk.

Rep. Himes is an active supporter of anti-gun legislation. He serves on the House Financial Services Committee and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. In 2009 and 2010, he served on the Homeland Security Committee. He was elected to Congress in 2009.

He earned a B.A. at Harvard University and a Master’s in Philosophy at Oxford University in England and has worked as a banking executive and nonprofit executive. He has served as chairman of the Greenwich Housing Authority and was a member of the Greenwich Board of Estimate and Taxation.
