Flagship Quilt Plaque Dedication

Members of Peace by Piece: The Norwalk Community Quilt Project were joined by NCC President David L. Levinson, Ph.D., Art Gallery Curator Susan Hardesty and members of the NCC community to commemorate the installation of a plaque next to the group’s handmade Flagship quilt, which hangs in a foyer outside the Baker Library. The quilt was design directed by Lizzy Rockwell, using improvisational piecing techniques featuring red, white, gray and black triangles, squares and rectangles. Peace by Piece is an intergenerational afterschool art program which mentors young people through the craft of quilt making. The group’s quilts hang in several locations in Bridgeport as well as The Stepping Stones Museum.
