Alternative Spring Break 2021 Focuses on Food Insecurity

“Taking it Local”
Monday, March 15 to Wednesday, March 17
(Application Deadline: Monday, Feb 8)
Our 2021 goal is to ensure that students understand the impact of food insecurity, how prevalent it is (and right in their own backyard) and how to be part of a solution or at least part of a mitigation strategy. Food insecurity is a racial equity issue.
We will be working with 3 community partners: Person-to-Person, The Connecticut Food Bank, and Food Rescue US. We will also work with the NCC Food Pantry.
Our top priority is always the health and safety of our students, staff/faulty and community members. We are following all COVID-19 (Coronavirus) public safety guidelines and adjusting our trip practices as needed to ensure everyone’s wellbeing.
· All student participants must be currently enrolled at NCC and must be in good academic and disciplinary standing
· Participants must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher
· Must attend all three days
· All interested students must complete an application and have a faculty/staff recommendation
