Reception for Latin American, Caribbean Art Exhibit

Norwalk Community College is proud to present an eclectic array of works of art entitled “Figurative Works in Latin American and Caribbean Art from the Benjamin Ortiz and Victor P. Torchia Jr. Collection”.  Mr. Ortiz and Mr. Torchia have spent the last 35 years collecting and curating their exceptional collection.

The works of art by 17 Latin American and Caribbean artists, deal with the emotion and spirit of the human figure.  Through paintings, mixed media, collage, lithograph and other media, these artists creatively explore the figure:  from Cuba, Pavel Acosta, Luis Cruz Azaceta, Cuno Bermudez, Osvaldo Lugo, Sandra Ramos, Juan Carlo Menendez Ruiz, Cepp Selgas and Harold Vasquez; from Columbia, Luis Stand; from Mexico, Jose Luis Cuevas and Yolanda Petrocelli; from Puerto Rico, Imna Arroyo, Myrna Baez, Antonio Martorell and Juan Sanchez; from Dominican Republic, Hochi Asiatico and Rosa Tavarez.

The exhibition will be open to the public August 28 through October 24, 2018.  There will be a reception with the artists on Thursday, September 20, 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Norwalk Community College East Campus Art Gallery, 188 Richards Ave., Norwalk, CT 06854
