Movie-of-the-Month: Now Voyager (1942)

NCC’s English Department and the Baker Library present a free screening of Now, Voyager. The 1944 film stars a spectacular Bette Davis in a tour de force performance as the love-starved Boston heiress fighting to free herself from the emotional shackles of her tyrannical mother. Marvel at the transformation of Miss Davis as she embarks on a romantically complicated love affair.
Nominated for three Academy Awards, Now, Voyager also stars Paul Henreid and Claude Rains and was directed by Irving Rapper. It was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically , or aesthetically significant.”
Come see the star power and “emotional crescendos” that cause this film to be number 23 on the American Film Institute’s “100 Years . . . 100 Passions” list of the top love stories in American cinema.
