Media Madness at NCC
Fri, Mar 10 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
On Friday March 10,, 2023 high school students from around the region will convene at Norwalk Community College for the “Media Madness” conference.
Organized by Assistant Professor Julie Casper Roth and faculty from Wilton and Norwalk High Schools, the conference will provide high school students with an introduction to a variety of media fields. Workshops will be led by faculty, an NCC alumnus, and community partners including The Factory Underground and News 12’s sports anchor Justin DeVellis.
Students will learn about audio production, television production, on-air performance, and the creation of PSAs (public service announcements). Impact Teen Drivers will also be on hand to promote its annual PSA competition for high school students.
In addition to engaging students in media workshops, “Media Madness” will introduce students to digital media offerings at the college. The event is scheduled to run from 9am until 1pm. Participating students will receive lunch before returning to their respective schools.
Please reach out to Prof. Casper Roth at jcasperroth@norwalk.edu with any questions or to volunteer at the event.
