About this Course

Come learn the ancient art of wire wrapping and basic beading techniques that open the door for creating intricate and beautiful jewelry designs! This course focuses on creating a strong foundation for the students and teaches some of the most essential skills of wire wrapping: making wire loops, clasps, bails and wrapping beads and stones. You will learn everything about wires, tools, beads/stones, and make shapes and wire components, incorporating basic and intermediate wire wrapping techniques using free form and intricate wire weaving designs, and create 5-6 projects including pendants, necklaces, rings, bracelets, and earrings.

Required tools and materials: Pliers (Round-nose pliers, Chain nose/Needle-nose pliers, Flat-nose pliers, Wire/flush cutters, Nylon-jaw pliers, Bent-nose pliers, Bail-making pliers, Crimping pliers), Artistic Copper or Brass Round Wires (16-gauge, 18-gauge OR 20-gauge, 22-gauge, and 26-gauge OR 28-gauge) and stones/beads (drilled stones and cabochons). These materials can be purchased from crafting stores such as Michaels, Jo-Ann, Hobby Lobby or online.
