Introduction to Archaeology

About this Course

This course provides an introduction to the tools, methods and theories used in archaeology as well as an overview of northeastern U.S. prehistory. Students receive pre-excavation training prior to their participation in the investigation of a local prehistoric archaeological site. The analysis of recovered materials and the interpretation of the site provides the basis for the writing of an archaeological site report.
