About this Course
Ijó Afrobeats is a dance class for all ages and experience levels. Afrobeats dance is a vibrant energetic dance style that has its roots in West African music and dance traditions fused with jazz, funk and soul music. This dance style has become increasingly popular in the U.S. in recent years. In this course, we will explore the rich history of African dance and music, while learning how to move to the infectious rhythms of Afrobeats through a series of fun and dynamic routines. Through dance, we will work on building our fitness and improving our coordination and rhythm
