Engineering

Engineering Science Students are eligible for NSF S-STEM Scholarships of up to $10k per year for up to 3 years.

Programs and Degrees

Engineering Program offers two Associate’s degrees in engineering and engineering technology fields as well as a certificate in computer aided design.

Engineering Science, A.S.

Allows students to transfer seamlessly to a bachelor’s degree in a variety of engineering disciplines through an articulation agreement and guaranteed admission to several schools including UConn and Central CSU.

Technology Studies, A.S.

Allows students to transfer seamlessly to a bachelor’s degree in engineering technology through an articulation agreement and guaranteed admission to multiple schools including Central CSU.

CAD User Certificate

Provides the students with the basic training they need in the field of computer aided drafting. The program is a steppingstone to seek lower-level mechanical drafting jobs or to continue to obtain Mechanical CAD Certificate.

After six years of work experience as an engineer, Mobin Rastgar Agah started his PhD program at Temple University where he worked on Tissue Biomechanics and Biomechanics of Injury. He taught as an adjunct instructor at Temple University College of Engineering prior to joining CT State Norwalk in 2015.

Fahad-Usman

Fahad Usman, Ph.D.

Dr Fahad Usman holds a PhD in Applied Physics (Biomedical Optics). He worked as a Senior Lecturer and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Al-Qalam University Katsina, Nigeria and University of Malaysia Pahang Prior to joining CT State Norwalk in 2023. He has extensive research experience in the development of plasmonics/optical sensing devices and material physics.

Susan Burt, M.S.

Professor Burt has taught at CT State Norwalk since 1993. Her prior industrial engineering experience includes work with General Electric, Radar Systems Division and engineering work with General Dynamics in nuclear structures. In addition, she worked as an engineering consultant on commercial and industrial building projects.
