I graduated five years ago with a Master’s degree in Greek and English philology in Ukraine, and had very little knowledge related to art, design and computing. Little did I know what God had in store for me until I opened my heart to new possibilities. I took a risk to find myself.

In 2009, I emigrated to the United States with an intention to experience the life of an Au-Pair, and to improve my English speaking abilities. Little did I know that a new life had already begun for me. I was never much interested in the arts, and had never suspected I could create something aesthetically beautiful. Why have I chosen Graphic Design then? In my case, it’s a rhetorical question. In any case, I was determined to accomplish what I had started—to become a graphic designer! A new self emerged when I started Norwalk Community College, knowing zero about design. I immersed myself into magnificent world that has changed my life forever.

Here I am, a few years later, graduating from NCC with an Associate Degree in Graphic Design, knowing exactly what I want to do in life. There are not enough words to express my gratitude to the professors at NCC who inspired me, boosted my confidence, and shared their knowledge and experience. Special thanks to Ken Lalli who has been my role model and inspiration for these past couple of years, and for many more to come. The decision to become a graphic designer was the biggest blessing in my life. I thank God for every opportunity I have had, and for the great future He holds for me.
