As Director of the Career Center at Norwalk Community College, Kiran provides individual career coaching and advising to students and alumni. She assists with resume and cover letter reviews, job and internship search, mock interviews, major exploration, academic advising and professional networking. Kiran has expertise in hosting signature on-campus events including career expos, career strategy days, guest speaker series, career prep workshops and presentations. Prior to joining NCC in January 2015, Kiran spent four years at University of Bridgeport’s Center for Career Development building strategic partnerships with regional employers, cultivating internship and job opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students, as well as alumni. In addition, she managed the CPT (Curricular Practical Training)/ internship process for international student population and all employer related programs, including all on-campus recruiting, employer events, recruiting strategies and outreach. She has also worked for seven years in the international financial services industry. Kiran graduated with Masters in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from University of Bridgeport and also holds a Masters in Management Studies, Finance degree from Mumbai University. Besides career development and corporate outreach, Kiran is dedicated to another full time job as the mother of two little boys. She is also passionate about paper art and would love to travel the world!

Donna Brooks

Donna Brooks, as Associate Director of Career Services/Academic Advisor at Norwalk Community College, Donna’s job involves making a difference in the lives of college students. Donna provides career counseling, interview advising, mock interview, major exploration, as well as helping student gain job and internship placements.   Donna also provides academic advising.  Prior to joining the Career Development Office at Norwalk Community College, Donna worked as a Human Resources Specialist and Assistant to the Director of Human Resources at in the Office of Human Resources & Payroll Services at NCC for a combined total of nine years. Prior to that she worked as a Human Resources Coordinator at St. Vincent’s College located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Donna holds a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of Bridgeport, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Legal Administration from Sacred Heart University, as well as two Associate Degrees, one in Paralegal Studies and the other in General Studies from Sacred Heart University. When Donna is not at work helping students reach their full potential she can be found tending to her garden, horseback riding on a nature trail, lessoning to music or reading a good book.

 

 

Helen Boyke

HELEN BOYKE

Career & Technical Ed-Career Counselor

Helen Boyke is the Career and Technical Education (CTE) Counselor in the Center for Career Development at Norwalk Community College (NCC).  Helen joined the staff at NCC in Fall 2015 and is responsible for providing guidance to students with career exploration, improving their interview and job search skills to have the opportunities to participate in internships and workplace experiences to develop career readiness, engage students with professional social media networking, partner with students for resume review, and facilitate mock interviews.

Prior to joining NCC, Helen held various HR manager and recruiting positions in Fortune 500 companies. Her specialized HR experience has been in C-suite executive recruitment, talent and development, orientation and on-boarding, staff development, and vendor management.

Helen has been a board member of University of Bridgeport Alumni Association and Stamford Youth Foundation Cheer Division since 2011, and recently became a member of the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW).

Helen earned her Master of Science in Organizational Management and Human Resource Development from Manhattanville College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Human Resource from University of Bridgeport.

Her enjoyment for experiencing different cultures and environments has led her to travel to several corners of the globe, but her greatest pleasure is being with her family with whom she resides in Fairfield County, CT.
